Decision Packs
Decision Packs
For households who already have a solar or battery quotation in hand and want to weigh it up — comparing options, or asking whether adding a battery to a proposed solar system is worthwhile. The free calculators on this site are for exploration; a Decision Pack brings your estimates, assumptions and installer questions together into one downloadable record. Planned price £5, one off.

Planned next
Not available in this preview yet — these are shown so you can see the direction, not as built features:
- Side-by-side comparison of two competing quotations.
- Wider high and low scenario tables.
- Payback-target planning against a year you choose.
Who it helps and what to have ready
A pack is most useful once you have a real quotation to judge. Have these figures to hand before you start:
- Installed cost of the solar system and the battery (from your quote).
- Solar generation estimate for your roof (kWh per year, or kWp and orientation).
- Battery size being quoted (kWh).
- Your annual household electricity consumption, including any solar you already use.
- Your import and export unit rates (pence per kWh).
What a pack is and is not
- It is an automated planning estimate built from figures you confirm, using one common hourly model.
- It is not an installer accreditation or workmanship check, and it does not replace a technical survey.
Why the extra battery matters on its own terms
A battery added to solar costs more, so the question is whether the extra saving from that battery — shifting more of your generation into your home and away from the grid — is large enough to earn its cost back. The pack shows the incremental battery saving against the solar-alone option, not just the combined headline, so you can see what the battery is actually contributing.
